My wife and I are planning on adopting a puppy, but we currently have no fencing in the backyard to allow the pupper outside unsupervised. Our backyard is currently bordered by tall evergreen bushes. We were thinking about building three gates in the gaps between our house and bushes and then garage and bushes. My research has said that attaching any kind of fencing directly to a structure is not advised. My issue is that any solution that doesnt affix to the garage will result in tearing up concrete (which would then restrict the walkway which is already fairly narrow) or would then put the garage access door 'outside' the fence, which would not only be annoying but would look stupid. Is there an 'approved' method of affixing through siding (extra silicone sealant? confirming studs?)? Or would i be better off putting in some kind of electric fence on the perimeter? Im thinking that in each case I would install the gate to hang onto a placed post and only affix the 'latch' side to the house (or post next to house) or garageThanks! via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2pq3AG6
