Hi, I'm an 18 year old soon to start college at a top 20 business school in the country and I'm going to be majoring in Finance with the goal of working at an investment bank.

I am trying really hard to understand investing and the stock market but I'm having difficulty understanding the terminology. I have just purchased The Intelligent Investor and am going to start reading it today, but I'm worried I'll have a difficult time actually understanding the concepts the book puts forward due to the fact that I simply am confused by the terminology used online. I go to Investopedia to try and learn the basics but there are so many different terms used and when I click on an article to try and understand a term, it's just another article that uses the same confusing terminology.

Like for example I was trying to understand what exactly a Hedge Fund is, probably a super simple concept to most here, but there were just so many words that, while I recognized, I didn't truthfully understand, and then going to different articles and reading more about each term left me just as confused.

I know I'm probably coming across as an idiot and I'm sorry if this question is dumb but does anyone here with a strong background in finance have any tips on how to basically start understanding this stuff? Like maybe a guide that puts the information in a concise way that explains everything simply?

Sorry again if this is a dumb question, thanks.
