Hi,

About to turn 35, lucky enough to be in a position where with my partner we will soon be able to finally get on the housing ladder.

I currently save £450 a month split between a Help To Buy ISA and an Advanced Savings account though I expect most if not all of this to disappear into the house when we buy. I pay into a pension through my work, I have a couple of small pools of other savings scattered here and there and after ruthlessly checking my finances think that I have £50 a month extra I could be saving or investing.

My contributions to the HTB ISA and the savings account are maxed out, so I am looking for suggestions/advice on something else to invest in or save through. I am happy to put money aside this way long term and I have absolutely no knowledge of the markets. I anticipate that more money will free itself up in the next year or so and we switch from rent to mortgage.

Thanks,
