I'm writing this just to let people know that I trusted myself with a credit card 7 months ago and just after the 6 month mark my brand new credit score was 719! With a small $200 refundable deposit for a secured card I was able to get a great credit score immediately by paying my credit card in full every month and even accumulated $50 in cash back bonuses. Just yesterday I received an email from my credit card company notifying me that I will be getting my $200 deposit back and my credit limit will be raised to $500! It's amazing how simple and extremely easy it is to start off your credit history with a secured credit card.
If you're afraid to get a credit card, you have nothing to be afraid of. If your problem is forgetting, many credit card companies have apps that you can use and you can set up reminders to pay the balance x days before it's due. I was always worried at first that I would forget to pay it off but the reminders really helped and they send emails when a statement is ready to be viewed and paid anyway.
