Exactly what the title says. I was supposed to get a raise so the bump in pay didn't seem suspect to me. I found out last month that between aug-Nov I was overpaid. They requested a refund which I paid. Last week they said 'oh wait we actually meant you owe DOUBLE the amount we said....please pay up now. Here's the thing, I don't have the money, because it was taken out for taxes. When i pointed this out, they said I needed to pay the $ now and they would supply a "explanation letter" so I can be reimbursed by the IRS in 2018. This seems really unfair to me...I'm a poor student and it was there error that caused this whole mess. What can I do? Does this seem right?
