One year ago, I made a major change. I was struggling financially because of a long term boyfriend. He took full advantage of me when it came to finances. I left with $250 in my emergency fund and $200 in savings.
Since then, I ended the relationship and paid out my lease on the apartment I shared with him (I paid 6 months of rent because he threatened to not pay and take me down with him on the eviction notice), put down a deposit on a new place I'm renting, and after a lot of budgeting and discipline, next paycheck I will hit a total of $5000 saved. I've been lurking on this subreddit for awhile and it has helped so much with my planning. Thank you all so much!
