My PTA hired a fundraising company to help us buy computers for the students. We pay them 2k up front then they take 58% of all donations. They do a good job and they entertain the kids for a week but we brought in nearly 40k and now they are taking more than half. I feel that this is basically fraudulent since we parents thought all the money was going to buy computers. I'm 100% ok with paying for service they provided this year as it is done but I feel like it was a serious mistake. Everyone else wants to do it again since "it doesn't come out of our budget" and we net about 7-10k from the event after additional expenses. I think if the parents knew they would be livid but I'm not sure if I'm just overly frugal.
