Hey Guys - made a throwaway to post this and am looking for advice from anyone who has been in a similar situation.
I am in my late 20s and work in the investment industry. I make very good money and manage my own investments in my personal account. A few months ago I saw an opportunity in the market and placed a rather large trade in my personal account. Shortly thereafter due to firm policies I was forced to reverse the trade. This was massively frustrating as I strongly believed / believe in the long term value of this business.
Since my trade was forced to be unwound, the value of this stock has increased astronomically to the point where my missed profits on the trade are huge (six figures) in roughly 3 months. Even beyond the missed profits, I still firmly believe that the business remains undervalued and I may be stuck watching this outperform while I see no benefit from my months of diligence.
I am having an extremely difficult time getting this out of my head to the point where it has consumed my thoughts daily. It has been dictating my mood and also causing me trouble sleeping.
I wanted to see if anyone has everything been in a similar situation and how they dealt with it. I keep being told that "it's not a big deal" or "just find the next one." Unfortunately both of those statements have not been very comforting. Any advice would be appreciated.
