I had a mud room added to a house we moved into about three months ago in Upstate NY. The contractor seemed to do well at first but as the project wore on we lost confidence in his ability. There were a couple of ultimatum's at the end but the work appeared to be finished. My concern now is it looks like one corner is sinking. Since it is a mudroom we take off boots out there and at first the melted ice would pool but now it appears to run toward one corner. The contractor is an independent and I don't hold out hope of him fixing anything but I'd like to be able to figure out if this is minor or he did something really bad, like no concrete in the footer holes. Is there a good way to check level now and compare it in 3-6 months with another reading? I've spent some time with a level but I'm not much of a carpenter and can't wrap my head around how to measure / document where it is now vs. in the future. Thanks for any ideas you might have. If there is a better subreddit to ask this in, I'd be glad to move it or crosspost there. via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2n6drOi
