I'm having issues with blotchiness while staining my desk. It is a Hammarp Birch desk from Ikea. I sanded it down with 150 lightly then moved on to 220 to finish. I wiped it down with tack cloth and applied the pre-stain conditioner. I waited about 30 minutes before staining, wiped down the excess, and ended up with the blotchy mess you see.I was under the impression that I did everything right, and that the pre-stain would prevent the blotchy coverage, but it looks like it didn't help much.http://ift.tt/2ogJRre via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2o77x48
