I got a call from a guy that said he worked for my bank. He said that he was calling in regards about a mobile banking app and that I had to confirm my personal info.
Like a moron, I told him my date of birth. I then said that I wasn't comfortable giving out personal data on the phone and that I would be coming down to the bank.
He then started to backtrack and say that they wouldn't know anything about it, since they were based in a whole different city.
Told him to fuck off and go make an honest living. Scam or was I just a prick for no reason?
Also, if it is a scam, and I just gave my DOB, what could he do with it?
EDIT: Checked the number. It was my bank. I feel like an ass now, because I laughed and cursed at him. Why they would be calling me from a branch across the country to request personal info is anybody's guess.
