Hey all, question - in 2013 I transferred shares in kind from a Morgan Stanley Employee Stock Purchase account to a Vanguard brokerage account. These were shares acquired from about 2005-2010. I sold all these shares in 2016.

I'm afraid now with tax season coming up how to calculate and/or report this on my taxes - according to Vanguard the shares show up as "non-covered" , first in first out, and the proceeds listed. I'm afraid they don't have the entire cost basis history or what I need to report accurately.

I can log into the Morgan Stanley account and see a history of when each share was purchased and how much, but have no idea how to calculate this manually or based on when I sold it from Vanguard.

I'm hoping Vanguard will have everything I need and can import to TurboTax or H&R block, but not confident this will be the case and want to be prepared.

Any thoughts/suggestions/ideas?

Thank you!!
