When you do a self serve car wash, don't go through every cycle: Rinse, soap, rinse, wax, etc.

Just do two cycles: 1. High pressure soap and 2. High pressure wax

Both are 95% water and so the "rinsing" happens with it.

By doing this, I wash my car whenever I feel like it in the winters (snow salt etc) and don't feel guilty about the cost. My local wash gives 4 minutes of time on $2 and that is plenty for my 4 door sedan.
