The letter is from a "Special Council to the Ohio Attorney General" saying that I owe $2000 in personal income tax. I've never been to or worked in Ohio. Currently in the military living in CO. I've checked out my Credit via Credit Karma, I don't have anything in collections. Nothing looks out of the ordinary.
I went to the site mentioned in the letter and the payment section redirects to the Ohio state AG's payment site. Has anyone ever been through this?
The letter mentioned that payments can be made online at:
The Subject is: "Ohio Personal Income Tax (state)" and the letter states that it is to collect, "overdue assessments you have incurred with the state of Ohio"
It states that it is a courtesy letter before, "resorting to the courts"
