I don't believe that broad legalization will happen under Trump, but other states are going to continue to eventually follow along.
While Canopy in Canada is a considerably risky investment, they are branching out into Europe and Australia. Meanwhile, there isn't a "Canopy" equivalent in the US and there probably won't be until broad legalization (and the tobacco companies probably won't venture in until broad legalization), but that won't be for years.
