I agreed to begin the process for the Disability Insurance plan with my "financial advisor" . I was planning on shopping around with other places but I wanted to see how much the premium would be after my health status was considered. That day I signed documents and performed a health history and saliva swab. I understood that this testing would cost about $30 (refundable) so I provided a voided check as instructed. My financial advisor assured me that the Northwestern Mutual would contact me letting me know how much my premium would be based on everything, and I could accept or decline the offer. Fast forward to now and I have not heard back from Northwestern Mutual or my FA. At all. Yet last night I noticed that I've been charged monthly for an insurance premium by NM.
I have my signed paperwork in front of me and nothing states that they would begin automatic payments like this . Is this normal ? Usually companies let customers know when, if, and how much money they'd be charging, right? I just find it strange I was sent nothing regarding my policy.
