I am 6'4" 400 pounds. Size 13 widd. I destroy shoes. Believe it or not the only light weight shoes i can wear that last more than 2 months (barely) without hurting my feet is crocs. I must keep 10 plus pair on hand when i can het them on sale but damn are they expensive as i burn through 5 or 6 pair a year even on sale.
The problem is not the shoe surviving. I have never worn through a sole or ripped a toe or side.
I literally destroy the internal structure of the sole or something and my feet begin to hurt. Bad.
Insoles only help so much and last 3 to 5 weeks tops. Though i love the insoles in my thoroughgood boots. Gonnanhave to try and get more of those.
My thoroughgoods and chippewas are absoslutely amazing but they are too heavy and a pain to put on daily. Their mass and sheer size make it a pain to get in and out of the car daily.
I am a delivery driver so i walk 6 or 7 miles daily and worse have to get into and out of the car 50 plus times daily. This is where the boots just suck.
I am looking for bifl shoes that can hold up to my mass. I would be ecstatic to get a year out of a pair of shoes if i could get them for under $150 which is about what i spend on crocs yearly.
Remember. Most of my shoes still look fine even new when i give them away. I think i am crushing the soles themselves to the point where they stop properly supporting my feet which causes my feet to stary hurting and its time to replace them.
For example. New balance are probably some of the most comfortable shoes i have ever worn. They last 2 maune 3 weeks and they are toast. They just fall apart and i crush them.
Those freaking things are super expensive when you cant even get a month out of them. Ouch. At $70 a pair i would need to get a solid 6 months from them.
I wanted to try some chippewa oxfords but holy shit over $200. If i KNEW for certain i could get say 18 months from them i would but i cant afford to gamble that much on an unknown.
Suggestions?
