Hi there, first post on PF hoping to get all you college graduates' stories on how, if at all, your parents assisted you financially once you graduated from college. I'm a single mom who was able to pay (without loans) for all of my son's private liberal arts college education. Thus, he will be graduating with zero student debt. Obviously, he now (or come June) has to start the job hunt. Any advice on how I can support him without rescuing him once he graduates? Did your parents offer you any help as you were job hunting, or was graduation the final cut-off point? Was there a deal struck, an "I'll spot you for 3 months then you're on your own" kinda thing? I'm just wondering what's reasonable because I know it takes a little time to land on your feet, even some time just to get a shit job. Thanks for your help and for sharing your story. This is unchartered territory for me—the final cutting of the umbilical cord. :)
Edit to add: He's not a trust fund kid, and we are not wealthy by any stretch but rather your typical middleclass Americans.
