I love this sub. I have always been a person who prioritizes durability. This sub resonates with me on a level more so than any other sub I have come across yet. Anyway...
This question made me realize something about this sub. It got me thinking that there has to be ways to look at an item and determine whether or not it is likely to be BIFL.
I would like to see a series of posts on this sub that talk about how to spot qualities in items that suggest it's likely to be BIFL or not that has nothing to do with a brand name.
Potential examples:
-
If you see these two nearly identical items, but one has a plastic handle and one has a metal handle, the metal one is more likely BIFL.
-
When purchasing pants, look for some stitching pattern instead of cheap stitching pattern. Also, the zipper on the higher quality jeans would be thicker than the zipper on the lower quality jeans.
-
Knife A is better than Knife B despite the fact that Knife B has a wooden handle and Knife A has a plastic handle because of the type of metal that the knives are made out of. You can see this by looking wherever.
Is there already a different sub for this?
Is this something that we would want to do?
