Last year my wife called me about extending my home warranty as the one that came with my house through AHS was expiring. There was a $181.00 down payment then $161 a month for 18 months. We have a lot of plumbing issues and a faulting HVAC so I thought it was a good idea as my previous home warranty saved me an arm and a leg.
Fast forward this month we have a major plumbing concern and went to look up the company. Turns out they never sent out any correspondence via mail or email to my wife. Using my bank account I determined the money was being withdrawn by a third party called Omnisure. They seem to be a legit business specializing in payment contracts. Through her email I found the initial email that had a Notice of Acceptance with Omnisure. On that document I found the servicer of the Home Warranty. They are a company called National Home Shield. They don't appear to have a website. When I call the number on the Notice of Acceptance the (unprofessional sounding) recording says "You have reached us on off business hours, please leave a message and we'll get back to you") After the recording the call just hangs up without ever giving the ability to leave a message. I've called multiple times throughout the day today with no difference. I understand it's President's Day weekend, but Home Warranty companies are usually available.
The F- on BBB doesn't help. Nor do the negative Google Reviews or the fact they don't have a physical website.
Do I have any resolve. If it turns out the be a scam I can dispute with the bank i'm sure. Am I out $1500?
Thank you!
