I had a contractor run some wiring for some cabinet lighting and currently running into a problem I can't figure out. I have attached a photo to help explain my setup.http://ift.tt/2lLGtWF: Basement ConnectionB: Light 1 ConnectionC: Light 2 ConnectionD: Light 3 Connectionsquares: junction boxesWith this setup I have run the following scenarios and can't figure out why 1) or 2) will not work.Power -> A and Light -> B:nothing happened and I received no sign of current at B,C, or DPower -> A and Light -> B,C,D (thought maybe the load needed to be complete was the issue):again, nothing happened and I received no sign of current at B,C, or DPower -> D and Light -> B:light at B turned on and I received current at A,B,CPower -> B and Light -> C,D:light at C, D turned on and I received current at AI cannot get to the junction box that was installed so I'm wondering if the contractor possibly installed them incorrectly. I was thinking he possible inverted the connections and had positive -> neutral and neutral -> positive (just a blind guess) so in thinking this I did the following as a testPower (reversed white:black and black:white) -> A and Light -> Breceived positive signal at all connection (both white[neutral] and black[positive] wires) through my tester when it usually only indicates positive on blacklight did not turn onThinking maybe the light was damaged I then removed the light and just did the followingPower (normal setup white:white and black:black) -> A and no lights installedno sign of current at B,C, or DI'm at a loss at this point. Wondering what my options are as the current setup is already run to the cabinets with both junction boxes installed behind a cabinet I cannot access without cutting the back of the cabinet out. Thanks for the read and hoping you can help me stop scratching my head.(Please excuse any incorrect terminology and please comment if you have any additional questions about the setup. Thanks again.) via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2lBtsNq
