Just got a brochure from the electric company for their "Peak Time Savings Program". You sign up and when they need people to cut back on electricity usage, they message (call?) you and you get to decide if you participate or not for that day and (try to) use less electricity. If you use less, you get some money off your bill. Sounds good, but ...

Here is the kicker. Your usage "saved" for that day is based on your regular usage. So for someone like me (who already severely restricts my usage,) there is nothing more for me to cut back on to take advantage of this program.

Anyone have any more insight on this or have I basically represented it correctly?
