Hi /r/diy!I have this slate coffee table I got from my parents, it's hella old and heavy and an imminent danger to small children and glassware. I've known this table all my life, even when my parents used to put pipe insulation with gaff tape around the edge to keep me from splitting my head open. Now I'm an adult with my own home and I get the table.Growing up, my family would play boardgames on this very large piece of rock and we would use chalk to mark things directly on the table, like score and things. Today, my girlfriend and I use the same table to leave each other notes and I play some heavy D&D with it.So the reason I'm coming to you all is because I had bought a set of chalk markers (Made by a company called Bistro). They're great, vibrant markers (we had a pack of the "Yoobi" brand from target and they were terrible). But the Bistro markers leave a ghost of what was written on the table.I've tried just water, as well as vinegar and essential oil blends, but it doesn't seem to want to wipe away! Any suggestions on how to clean it?Here are a couple of pictures that example what I am talking about: http://ift.tt/2k9x7CK via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2kp9J2P
