Hi all, i am currently shopping around for a good quality and decent looking laptop messenger bag for work and casual use. The laptop I am currently using is a Dell m4500 (yes it is an older model I know, I soon to hope to upgrade to a HP Elitebook x360 which is the business class of the Specter x360; although I am not sure if it will be the 13" or 15" model yet. So either way the bag will need to accommodate either of them.
I am also a DnD junkie so it would also be my travel bag for conferences as well, so it must be able to carry a small selection of books and other things.
The dimensions on the dell are as follows (and i know those are decieving for looking at fit due to the sheer thickness of the laptop) Width: 14.72"/374mm Depth: 9.96"/253mm Height: 1.15"/29.1mm
As far as build materials go I would prefer something in either waxed canvas or preferably leather. But at my budget the leather may not be feasible. Currently my employer offers only a $75 bag reimbursement towards a bag of our choice every 3 years, with that in mind I am putting out a budget of roughly $200.
I have in the past used laptop bags but the quality is always something to be desired as I just buy a cheap one that fits what I have from a big box store. Usually I am lucky if they last me more than a year or so. Although the current one I have is about 4 years old but the right should strap is starting to wear due to constantly carrying on one shoulder, hence while I am wanting to switch to a messenger style. And I greatly prefer those anyways.
As far as brands go, I am fairly open. I have been looking at the custom timbuk2 classic messenger bags but looking to see what else is out there.
