I know how stupid this will seem... I'm getting super organised with money and finance, but every now and then a basic math problem really just kills me. Here goes.

We just moved house (actually into my parents house, to save for a year), and it was a bit of an expensive process. With renting vans, buying new wardrobes, paying final utility bills, gardener/cleaner for end of lease etc. We also sold a bunch of furniture, and had a big bond coming back to us. We kept a document of how much money we were each spending so we could just sort it all out at the end. The credits have all been paid to her bank account, so obviously she owes me.. But that's about as far as my feeble brain can get me :(

Expenses

  • My expenses - $2245.37
  • Her expenses - $1490.59
  • TOTAL - $3735.96

Credits (paid to her account)

  • Furniture - $1000
  • Bond - $3000
  • TOTAL - $4000

If this is in the wrong sub, I'll delete it. This sub has been a life changer for me. At 29 years old, I'm crushing my debt, starting to save, and downsizing everything. Thank you!
