I believe in my life I have purchased very few things that I would consider BIFL until two days ago...
My wife is a hair stylist that works for a high end salon in our city, but ever since our baby was born she has wanted to do more from home. This costs $$$ to start up between a chair and a bowl and all the other equipment, but she is good at what she does and I want to support her.
One of the competing salons in the area was selling a vintage salon/barber chair for $75 that he bought thirty years ago. It was a solid frame and beautiful aged leather...I couldn't help myself! This chair was originially purchased (so said the owner) for $800 in the late 80's.
I brought it home, stripped it down and got to work. I was able to clean it up, polish the legs and arms, and restore the leather!
I have no clue what the name of the chair is, but it looks beautiful and I was quite proud!
Once I get some good pictures I will post them for all to see!
I just wanted to thank this sub for giving me the inspiration to turn something well used and aged into something long lasting and loved!
