I'm thinking a nice thing to have in a bugout bag would be the Wikireader with a crank or solar charger. You know, in case civilization ends. Wikireaders are not made any more and the used ones on eBay are $80+ and I don't know how reliable they are. Since the source code for the wikireader is freely available as is the Wiki-dump it seems like making my own would be pretty easy. I have a kindle touch and it seems pretty durable, but I have only had it maybe 5 years?

I would like a very tough e-reader, preferably that uses E-Ink for battery longevity and if there was a slot for an SD card so I could fit the entirety of wikipedia and a ton of significant literature that would be ideal.
