Not shown: Dividends 4 times a year, roughly $0.50 per share, adds a few thousand dollars to the above.
I just wanted to show what buy-and-hold strategy with a stock market index fund looks like for a regular person. Maybe others can show their results too.
Separately from the above account, I got a job with a 401k that does matching contributions so that's where most of my investment money goes now (still into index funds).
