My wife and I received a SentrySafe lockbox a few years ago as a gift. It is one of the biggest pieces of shit I've ever had the displeasure of dealing with. Long story short they combined cheap metal parts with plastic parts which break easily to the point where I had to almost completely destroy the thing to get it open when the plastic piece that connects to the plastic switch and controls the (cheap and easily cut) metal latch broke so that even with the key unlocked the box wouldn't open. It took a day for me to pry enough plastic apart to expose the metal latch enough to cut it apart.
Needless to say I will never purchase another product made by SentrySafe, regardless of whether they claim it to be entirely metal.
So now I'm looking to buy a real safe. Not a firebox, but a real burglary-rated safe for documents and valuables. I've looked around and seen what there is to see I guess, but reliable reviews are hard to come by. I'm trying to spend less than $300 but would go to $500 if necessary. Obviously it should contain no plastic parts whatsoever, not be manufactured by SentrySafe, and have a combination dial (absolutely no keypads that would require battery replacement).
It's probably a longshot but any help is appreciated.
