Here's what I'm looking at.The hole you see there is about 3.5" across and it's the one going into the sewer. There used to be a seal there, as you see with the other pipe and hole, but it deteriorated and fell in. The PVC pipe can't be pulled out - there's just not enough room to wiggle it free without breaking the pipes above it.I can think of three approaches for replacing and wonder if any is superior or inferior to the other.1) Cut the PVC pipe, remove, install a new flange, install a rubber seal joiner to repair the cut.2) Dissolve the glue connecting the last two sections of pipe, remove the bottom piece, install a new flange, reglue the pipes.3) Procure a flange. Cut it. Install it around the existing pipe. Apply sealant to the cut part of the flange. This seems like the stupidest way to do it!I'm leaning toward 2 and am mostly looking to avoid paying a plumber several hundred dollars for this one. Thanks for your feedback or other ideas! via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2hNp2iV
