Wondering whether anyone has run across a good strategy for when to exit a position? I have no clue how many investing books I've read in my life, but they all seem to be focused on when to buy stocks. The chapters I've seen on when to sell seem like after thoughts. "Sell when it gets to your predetermined price objective", "Sell half of your position if the stock doubles, the rest is house money", "Update your DCF (or other valuation model) as time passes and sell when it hits your target", "Sell any position that declines X% after you have purchased it", etc.
All these strategies presumably make sense depending on whatever investing style being advocated...
But, have you run across any book or chapter of an investing book that has presented various "exit" strategies and the pros and cons of each?
Thanks in advance!
