So quick backgroud, my dad subscribes to this paid newsletter by a guy called "The Dollar Vigilante". I've taken a look at it, and the articles seem pretty well researched and written.
Anyways, a couple of months ago he wrote an article about a micro-cap stock called Cascadero Copper Corp, who do mineral exploration. Anyways, this article made no promises but it sounded like there is a pretty decent chance they may be sitting on a mineral deposit worth a whole bunch. So my dad bought a bunch and I even bought a little.
Fast forward a few months and my dad keeps expanding his position and I just want to go a little further and make sure that at the very least this isn't some sort of scam. I looked up the company on EDGAR and the only filing I found is this- http://ift.tt/2jjgml2
Not sure if that tell me anything though. Although the business address is registered to what appears to be a residential house. In all fairness, my dad called up the CEO on the phone and said he sounded fairly legitimate.
TL,DR: Does anybody know anything about the legitimacy of this "Dollar Vigilante" guy? And any other steps I can go to check if this company is a real thing, other than checking EDGAR?
