tl;dr I'm wondering if anyone has ever bought rolls of pre-activated carbon filters from ebay or any other source, to use in their air purifiers, as their typical replacement filter costs are a bit high in most cases.
So I have two air purifiers, a Germ Guardian and another whos name escapes me right now, and they both have two types of filters. A carbon filter, and then another filter which some what resembles a honey comb (And I believe one or both or the second filters are washable). I also use them in my litter robot, for the compartment where their poop is stored, it's sealed and has a carbon filter for airing.
Buying new filters costs an average of 20-40+ dollars and can get pricey if I run them on high all the time, to help reduce cat allergens and odors as I'm allergic to cats, but love the damned things.
The thought crossed me that some one has to sell rolls of this fabric, and you could probably cut it to fit most applications. I found some on ebay and I'm wondering if anyone has ever bought rolls of pre-activated carbon filters from ebay or any other source, to use in their air purifiers, as their typical replacement filter costs are a bit high in most cases.
I found some on ebay, non on Amazon Canada. They seem to sell well on Ebay, from China. I normally base my willingness to buy off of number of people who've bought/watch an item, as most listings don't seem to ever really include ratings.
