Mostly, I'm looking to lower my gas bill- my new apartment will run heat and hot water on gas, and as it's winter in upstate NY, I'm looking for any weird/unusual tips and tricks on keeping the bill as low as possible until I can stop heating the apartment and taking hot showers. I'm really not looking for things like insulating the hot water heater, as I don't have access to it. Will keeping the bathroom door open when I shower help warm the rest of the apartment up, even a little? Will buying an electric blanket run up my electric bill (electricity is included- until it goes over $50)? Are there any tricks that you found helped lower your bills?
