In October 2016 I woke up extremely sick while at a friends house. She ended up taking me to the hospital where we wound up sitting in the emergency room for 4 hours before deciding to leave.

A few months later I recieved a bill for roughly 500 dollars from the hospital. Ive called numerous times throughout the years asking them what Im being charged for. In 2017 a representative asked me if they checked my vitals, which is something I could have been billed for. When checking into an emergency room the lady behind the desk puts one of those monitors on your index finger as a quick check while shes signing you in.

I understand that I may owe something but I cant wrap my head around coughing up so much money for a lady to stick something on my finger. Not to mention - the absolute lack of medical attention I recieved at that hospital.

Since then I have harped both the hospital and collections for an itemized statement. Each time, Im told they will investigate and look deeper into matters. The last time this was mentioned was in july of last year. I never recieved a call back. Instead Im recieving the same bill but with them offering to reduce it in order to get it paid off quicker.

What do I do? Without an itemized statement Im unable to agree or disagree with any charges. It also prevents me from giving my own side of the case. This has been trashing my credit for far too long.
