I'm a pretty frugal person and I'm looking to buy my first home.

I've worked hard and saved up for this purchase with all of the methods and techniques that I've read from all of you other frugal people (thank you all so much), but I'm having a tough time separating from my savings to choose the, "right" house.

I want to own a home and I plan for it to cost more than what I pay while renting, but I don't want to break the bank with one, potentially bad purchase.

For those of you who have gone through the home-buying process before, what advice can you provide for us first-time, frugal-minded home buyers?

Thank you in advance!
