Hi everyone! I'm rather new to this board, but I'm hoping you all will be able to help me!
I'm in the market for a good pair of boots. I live in Boston, so I need something that will deal with the wet winters here. When the weather is nice I like to go hiking, and I am going to dive into hobbies of hunting and fishing soon. I also want something that is going to last more than two years before the snow and wear break it apart. The catch is this: I'd like to have all of these qualities wrapped up in one pair of boots. I'm trying to reduce the number of things that I have in general, and I can't justify spending money on one pair of rain boots, one pair of hiking boots, one pair of snow boots, etc.
I need something with a medium height (no more than 8" or so) since I'll be hiking and knee high boots are impractical. I prefer plain styled shoes (again keeping it simple), and I want something that isn't going to look or feel cheap.
I know I am asking A LOT for one pair of boots, and if I have to compromise here or there then that's just the way it is. I don't really have a 'budget' yet since I'm still trying to understand how much a good pair of boots are worth (I bought a $300 pair of Frye's that are nice, and seem to be holding up so far, but I'm less than impressed with their comfort, and they feel more like a $150 boot to me, so I'm trying to see through the #fashion and over-inflated Filson-esque branding).
Does anyone here have any suggestions, brands, or experience with something similar? If so, your advice is much appreciated!
If this isn't the right subreddit, then could you perhaps guide me in the proper direction before deleting my post?
Best wishes
