Hey everyone, I'm sure you've seen a lot of posts from people in my situation, I'm just feeling a little unsure and would like some advice.

As the title states, I was in a minor (single vehicle) accident on Monday morning. Hopped a curb and did some damage to my wheels and things under the hood. All in all, replacing wheels + oil pan + a engine cradle & more looks like it'll cost me around $3k (from the preliminary estimate).

I drive a 2003 Toyota Matrix, which was in great condition prior to the accident (the mechanic even said it was one of the best he's seen). I only carry liability insurance, so insurance won't cover anything. I purchased this car from a family member a few years ago for $2k.

Some background on my financial situation: I am currently working part time and I'm in grad school, full scholarship student so no debt from student loans. I'm living at home for a while until I'm stable enough to live on my own, so I'm not paying rent, and I only have ~$400/month in bills.

Should I take the car somewhere else for another estimate (and pay to have it towed again), or just spend the money and get the car repaired? Or, is this is a good time to start on a car payment?

Thanks in advance! I don't get a lot of good financial advice from friends/family.
