Hi pf,
I'm a 28yo F driving a 99 Honda with about 220k miles on it. I love this car. I've never had so much as a dead battery with it, and I've been maintaining it my dad gave it to me in college (1 other previous driver before him).
She's old, hence repairs apart from regular maintenance have come up (all ball bearings replaced, timing belt, water pump, gaskets, sway bar links etc) totaling around $3500 in the past 2 years. My dad borrowed my car to take it to a trusted autoshop and said that there were a few more wear and tear items that need to be taken care of within the next year. He's going to find the list and let me know what they are, but he said it's 4 things.
The car is barely worth $2k. I figured if the car needs more than $1k in repairs it's time to start looking for another car. Is there a larger threshold where it's not worth it to repair or at this point is it safe to say it won't last much longer?
